AN INTIMATE RETREAT IN THE HEART OF WEST SUSSEX

Welcome to “Little Lakers”, our cosy country retreat.

A hidden gem on the edge of the South Downs.

Surrounded by lush vineyards, rolling hills and quaint villages scattered with cobbled lanes, antique markets and coffee shops, Little Lakers is an enchanting oasis of tranquillity in a quiet English village, within easy distance of exciting London and Gatwick airport.

Little Lakers is the perfect snuggly haven to unwind and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Our home, built in the 15th Century, once belonged to British comedy legend, Sir Norman Wisdom. He lived here from 1958 to 1976.

It also belonged to Anne of Cleves, fourth wife of Henry VIII. It was given to her as part of her divorce settlement from the King.

The minute we walked into this house in 2013, we knew it was the home of our dreams. We so wanted to share it with others, so we converted our cosy annexe into a charming holiday cottage so you can enjoy it too…

Welcome to our little corner of the world. 

When we’re not working (we are both professional photographers and business coaches), we love nothing more than exploring West Sussex’s many charms. We moved here seven years ago and knew instantly that this was a truly special home. With its stunning and peaceful rural location, surrounded by vineyards and with historical charm, we are so excited to share it with you and want to make your Little Lakers experience as special as possible.

“A perfect countryside retreat. The cottage is well located with lots to see and do, both in the car and on foot. Nutbourne vineyards is a short 20 min walk away and The Rising Sun pub in Nutbourne does good traditional pub grub. West Wittering beach is slightly further a field, but definitely worth the journey - but be sure to book parking! Ian and Pippa were easy to contact and helpful with their suggestions. We had a lovely stay!”

“One of the best air bnbs we have stayed in and certainly the most helpful and kind hosts. Ian and Pippa did so much to make our weekend special, they have excellent knowledge of the local area which really added to our stay. The place has been finished to such a high standard which felt luxurious. There were things for breakfast in the fridge as well as tea and coffee which was so appreciated. The kitchen was really well equipped for self catering. We found lots of lovely walks from here including to Kinsbrook vineyard which was wonderful and has a great cafe and free wine tasting! We are already hoping to come back when the vineyards are in their full glory.”

“This is a perfect getaway. Ian and Pippa, our hosts, are incredibly helpful, warm and inviting. They give you complete privacy (a courtyard, your own entrance), but are fully available for advice and some amazing walk recommendations. They also kindly left full (very nice!) supplies for breakfast. You can do a lot from this peaceful base - vineyards, walks, pub gardens. We look forward to getting back there - it was a relaxing and lovely stay.”
